"Picasso has works that minimize the lines in drawing the animals. I was inspired by those works and wanted to represent them on space rather than on canvas. 
Lines, planes and color are pivotal essences in my works. Lines drawn on the two-dimensional sketchbooks determine the big picture and the form of the work, and it is dimensionalized in the three-dimensional space with square planes. By coloring the four planes of the square pipe, I allow the work to show various forms and colors due to the flow and the entanglement of the pipes, and endow dynamicity in the still art. 
The thickness of the lines can vary rhythmically, becoming thick or thin as per the flow of the pipe, and intersections occur in places where such lines overlap. It is because I work by perceiving the lines as one giant mass, rather than individual lines. "피카소의 작품 중 선을 최소화하여 동물을 드로잉 한 작품들이 있다. 나는 그 작품들을 통해 최초의 영감을 받았으며 그것을 캔버스가 아닌 공간 속에 재현하고 싶었다.
선, 면, 색은 나의 작품에서 작용하는 중요한 요소들이다. 2차원의 스케치북에 그려진 선은 작품의 큰 흐름과 형태를 결정하고 그것은 3차원의 공간 속에서 사각의 면이 생기며 입체화된다. 그리고 사각의 파이프 네 면에 서로 다른 채색을 하게 되면서 흐름과 꼬임에 따라 다채로운 형태와 색상으로 보이고, 멈춰있는 작품에서 역동감을 느낄 수 있게 된다.
또한 흐름에 따라 선의 굵기가 리드미컬하게 굵어지거나 가늘어지기도 하고 선이 겹치는 부분에서 교집합이 발생하기도한다. 그것은 선을 선(line)이 아닌 덩어리(mass)로 인식하고 작업하기 때문이다. 이것은 화가가 꿈이던 조각가가 공중에 그리는 드로잉이고 페인팅이”    -작가노트 중-
